Imperial Club, Incorporated introduces its Debutantes for 2017.

 

Living the Legacy of Charm, Grace and Elegance”
proved a most appropriate theme as Imperial Club, Incorporated presented
seventeen lovely young women at its Sixty-ninth Annual Debutante Ball.
The event was held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in the East Ball Room of the
Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center. The young ladies were
gracefully adorned in white bouffant ball gowns, long white gloves and brilliantly
studded tiaras. The decor for the affair was flourishes of crimson and white,
reflecting the magnificence of the holiday season.

The debutantes presented were Kailyn Paige Anderson, a senior at Ramsay High School,
daughter of Jacqueline Barrow and Kevin Anderson; Asia Symone Bledsoe McDaniel, a senior
at Ramsay High School, daughter of Wanda Bledsoe and Joe Louis McDaniel, Jr.; Ahmya Jabree
Blue, a senior at Ramsay High School, daughter of Quwana Clifton and Rashid Blue; Rachel
Keyara Canterberry, a senior at Ramsay High School, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Nina
Canterberry; Raquel Kiara Canterberry, a senior at Ramsay High School, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Frank and Nina Canterberry; Natalie Simone Harris, a senior at John Carroll Catholic High
School, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel and Lori Harris; Madison Alexandria Henderson,
a senior at Huffman High School, daughter of Iris M. Henderson; Tayler Michelle Holmes, a
senior at Clay-Chalkville High School, Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randy and Jennifer Holmes;
Katherine Justina Jackson. a senior at John Carroll Catholic High School, daughter of Gwenea
Jackson and Reginald McDaniel; Kelyce Maicel Johnson, a senior at Helena High School,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin and Stephanie Johnson; Kaylin R. Lake, a senior at Ramsay
High School, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Jessica Lake; MarQuya DaSha Mosley, a
senior at Huffman High School, daughter of Paketna Mosley; Shelby Olivia Robinson, a senior
at Thompson High School, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Miranda Robinson; Tayla Ari
Sims, a senior at Ramsay High School, daughter of Tiffany Sims; Jessica Thomas, a senior at
Ramsay High School, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight and Patricia Thomas; Jillian Alexandria
Thomas, a senior at Thompson High School, daughter of Valerie Bishop; Paige Tamalia
Williamson, a senior at Woodgrove High School (Waterford, Virginia) daughter of Michael and
Tapkesos Williamson.
A highlight of the ball was the crowning of the 2017 Queen, Natalie Simone Harris, by the 2016
Queen, Carmen Cantelow. Runner’s up to the queen and members of her court were Madison
Henderson, first runner up and Tayla Sims, second runner up. The honor of Deb of the Year
was awarded to Katherine Jackson. Second place winner was Natalie Harris. Third place was
awarded to Tayla Sims.
The Debs were escorted by highly esteemed young men (Floormen), dressed in white tails.
Kelan Roseman was named Floormen of the year. He is the recipient of the Derrick Clark
Scholarship Award, presented annually by The Men’s Club. Kirsti Kimble is president of
Imperial Club. Mary Williams serves as Director of Debutante Affairs and was the event chair.
Peggie Myles serves as Director Emeritus. Imperial Club, Incorporated was organized in 1925.
Club members are professional women who support community services and activities that
strengthen the home and promote education for women and youth.
